How does the 501(c)(3) process work?
One Dollar for Change is a registered nonprofit in the State of Arizona and is preparing to apply for 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status.
Our plan is simple:
We are currently running up to three “Feed 100” community meal efforts.
Once donations exceed $1500, $275 will be allocated to file for federal tax-exempt status.
Until that point, the founder continues to personally cover all operating expenses.
We believe in transparency and will keep supporters informed at every step.
-
Where do donations go?
Every dollar donated goes directly toward helping people.
At this stage, all operating costs—including website hosting, marketing, and administrative expenses—are personally covered by the founder. One Dollar for Change has been active since February 2025, and the organization has been funded out of pocket to ensure donations are used 100% for community support.
Once we reach our next milestone, a portion of funds will be used to apply for 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status so we can grow responsibly and sustainably.
